    Location

When we arrived they put us on the 3 rd floor where they were renovating. The noise was incredible. They went on till late in the evening. We could not access our room by the regular elevator. No one told us to use a different one. We were unable to access the pool because the elevator was off. We did not receive turn down service. The whole thing was a disaster.

    Comfort and staff attendance

I came across a bit abrupt person at the check out- Eliza. She did not have much time for me to explain the bill, which I believed was prepaid.

My two sisters and I brought our Mum here to celebrate her 70th birthday and I can only describe it as magical from start to finish. From our check in with Jane (who told us we were upgraded to the Elizabeth Bowen Suite) to leaving and being told we could keep the umbrella as it was raining our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. This hotel knows how to make one feel special and I can only say a big thank you. From the friendliness of the staff to the lovely touch of a bottle of wine in our room we felt like we were the only people staying there! Loved it and we'll be back!

This is a small gripe but my sister didnt like the use of paper cups while waiting on a table for breakfast

    Fabulous

    Very wonderful hotel

Some of the new rooms are slightly small and very pricy for what you get.

    Great location!

We were given a room with a with a wet room shower. The shower trap was blocked and after the 1st shower the bathroom flooded. The girl in reception was very rude when we reported the problem. The service/maintenance man arrived at our room and said he had fixed the problem. So my partner had her shower but the same happened again. We got ready for dinner in the wet and didn't bother with the shower in the morning. Considering the price of the hotel and 5 star rating I think this was very poor on their behalf.

Your front desk staff! Sophia! was amazing - she deserves special recognition for her exceptional customer service. We had a glitch w/Booked.net which caused me some anxiety night of check in - the folks after 8pm could not solve our issue. the next morning I cam back to the hotel and Sophie immediately went to work and immediatley put us at ease with her confident, helpful and knowing manner.....she fixed the booking snafu which hadn't been in the sytem even though we had confirmations for 5 rooms. Each time I entered the hotel, she always addressed me by my name, which to me is important as I value relationships w/people. You've got a great gal there, take care of her.

wonderful stay only wish it was longer

    Superb

Staff were really nice and tried to help me in every way possible

The breakfast was very expensive, no choice of simple toasts or bakery basket available - either get a full breakfast or nothing

    Good

Very beautiful, nice staff, lovely tea in the lounge in the afternoon. It almost fulfilled the hype of its being the classy grande dame of Dublin hotels.

The original room we were given was tiny - closet like. So disappointing for the amount of money we were spending. We were switched to another room after one night (we were told the hotel was full the first night of our stay) which was lovely. Unfortunately, there was some glitch with housekeeping (they were not told the room was occupied?) and the maid neglected to make up our room (rectified in late afternoon about an hour after we called) and there was no turndown service. There was no room service menu, and messages to the concierge for taxi service were lost. The hotel is very beautiful and aims for luxury, but seemed unable to cope with all the necessary services the 3 days we were there.
